   Poonam Singh: an interview ( Thanks to Zonked for the interview) KTMROCKS

Wesome..... freaking cool.....rocking.......are some   words that best describe    Poonam Singh. She is the happening female rocker in Kathmandu where there are very few (or say none) faces in the rock scene. She has released an album (FAITHLESS) and she is hot in the live concerts these days. And her voice can be heard in the upcoming album of Seasons (hetauda). She has given her voice to a song called "socha" and the voice of Vijay Lama(actor and singer) can also be heard in the same song. So, we here  couldn't wait to spend a little time and talk with her. Here's a lil' stint Z and K had with Poonam Singh recently.
  Poonam singh is now with  her new  second album " Experience " in the market after her first album " Faithless".

  
So how did you start singing?
 I used to sing from my childhood. I started taking parts in school programs and slowly singing became a passion. I performed in different programs in my school days( Little Angels )and later in the High School (Modern Indian School )too

 How did the recording go? One of the songs 'Kehi Huncha Maan Ma' has been visualized by Image Channel. Can you say something on it?
 Well the recording was really cool. Everyone was nice and supportive and I had a great time. The visualization was also a great experience. I was a little shaky at first but we had fun. The guys of Cob Web kidding at me all the way through out the shoot.
How do you feel performing live ?
 The crowd there were also quite good. We had many experiences out there, some good and one really bad experience in Butwal which I guess is not suitable to say over here.
That's alright. So what after the first album? What are you doing thesedays?
 Currently I'm working on my second album. Again I'm recording with Cob Web. Well the recording is almost finished and I hope it will be coming out this September without any due.
Well Poonam let's talk about some general stuffs. How do you spend your free time?
 I like hanging out with friends. I listen to music and I love cooking and experimenting.
 		 Who are your influences?

Well I had some of the friends who knew the band members of Cob Web( Siddartha and Dibesh). One day we met in Santana Records and we sort of had a chat about our musical interests. Then Dibesh came up with the idea and since I was also lookin to cut an album, we agreed to release one. It was a really wonderful experience having to record an album with Cob Web backin me up.

Do you play any instruments?
 Not really but I'm learning to play guitar with my brother.
Can you share something about your dream ?
 I have many dreams. I want to be a Dentist and be a rock singer at the same time. I also want to be popular all over the world and get lots of prestigious awards.
So what's your future plans?
 I'm going outside (China) to continue my studies. Hopefully I'll acheive my aim and come back to Nepal.

From a rock fan's point of view this is a sad news to us. But it's your career you have to look first isn't it?
Yeah that's right. But it not like I'm going out forever. Music is my life and I plan to continue after I come back here.
